"Selecting a piece of furniture from Lee Weitzman is like choosing a piece
of art. I love the sculptural designs and exotic finishes available. I also
love working with Lee on custom designs to create one of a kind pieces
for clients who appreciate the quality and sophisticated style of Lee
Weitzman Furniture."

Looking for something beyond our standard catalogue of options? Our designers can work
with you to create an original piece just for you. The process starts with an initial consultation,
during which we decide the scope of a project and establish a budget. We will want to get an
idea of how you want the piece to function, desired materials and overall “look” of the piece.
Pictures are very helpful at this stage: magazine images or snapshots of furniture you like
help us understand the end result you wish to achieve. In most cases we ask for a 10% design
retainer to continue with the design phase of the project.
During the design phase, we will create scaled CAD drawings and finish samples for your
approval. We will explore the concept in drawings, trying out variations in scale, proportion, detailing, and ask for your feedback. We encourage a hearty dialogue about the design
direction; we genuinely want you to be pleased with the results. At the same time, we will
offer our suggestions based on years of experience creating custom furniture for our satisfied
clients.
Once the drawings and finish samples are finalized and approved, we will will privide a final
quote for the total cost of the project. We ask for an additional deposit to reach 50% of the
total (the design retainer is applied to the cost of the furniture). Then we will schedule the
project for production in our shop. Typically the lead time from this point is 12-16 weeks,
depending on the complexity of the project. |
